The IDRAPOWER system is born from IDRATEC technology. It is a unique system in the world of automotive transmission.
The normal hydraulic vane pumps can reach high pressures, but with small flow rates, this due to their ellipsoidal shape, so designed to cancel the thrust on the axis due to high pressures, which would fall on the bearings causing rapid wear.
Another characteristic of these pumps is that the blades are kept adherent to the inner surface of the ellipsoidal vault by springs, the thrust of which is partly compensated by the pressure of the delivery side, but not in the suction side, this entails a considerable internal friction, which limits the number of revolutions, in addition to requiring greater additional power to the engine.
An advantage of this type of pumps is that they are self-priming.

The IDRATEC solution has solved the problem of internal friction with a mechanical system, which due to its shape, keeps the vanes adhering to the rotation surface in a natural way, as with the piston rings in the pistons, in addition, the centrifugal force exerted on the palette, does not affect in any way their friction on the inner walls, allowing this type of pumps to work even at a high number of revolutions. Also in this case, a compensation system is provided which cancels the noxious thrusts on the bearings.
As an example, the IDRATEC pump mod. IPA300, can reach 300 bar, has a range per revolution of 122 cm3, and at 2000 rpm. has a capacity of 244 liters.
Its dimensions are contained in a parallelepiped of 264x150x274 mm.
All IDRATEC pumps can be either fixed or variable.
Due to their high capacity they can be used in hydraulic variators also for motor vehicles with pressures not higher than 80 ÷ 90 bar, thus reducing friction and therefore also heating the hydraulic oil to acceptable values.

All IDRATEC pumps are reversible and can also be operated by hydraulic motors.
